Cord cutting is accelerating as more people in the U.S. turn to Internet services such as Netflix, Hulu and YouTube to watch their favorite programs.
About 150,000 pay-TV customers canceled video service in the three months that ended June 30, according to estimates.
Cut the cord years ago. Cable company “required” a 50 question survey before they would “process” my cancellation “request”. Called back 3 weeks later with second discount/bonus offer. In other words I was paying the highest price and was therefore a sucker.
The only thing is – all my UFC/MMA events are on Fox Sports 2 or Spike TV (cable). No worries. I buy all the PPV events through my PS3 and PS4 “Live Events Viewer App”. Before the PPV events were only on cable. Now PS3/PS4 has a PPV app. Also get the UFC channel on Roku 3. They have live UFC events on there.
Before I get carried away ESPN Boxing is free on Roku 3 ESPN app too. Even more amazing ALL the live Tennis matches are streamed through the ESPN Roku 3 App. Live Tennis. Love Lleyton Hewitt. Cable wanted some $250.00 month package just to get the Tennis channel with all the satellite matches.
Between on air TV, The PS3/PS4, Roku 3, Netflix , and free internet TV websites etc there is more TV than I could ever have time to watch.
i cut the cord a few years ago. i have a decent number of over the air channels on my antenna. like the other poster above, i also have roku on my TV. i also have netflix. i’d have to say however, that most of my favorite shows i just watch on various websites. i watch the over the air TV almost everyday but rarely use roku or netflix. just lazy i guess…
