A mother of five who was publicly fat-shamed this week while sunbathing on a public beach is striking back on Facebook. On Wednesday, Tanis Jex-Blake, of Alberta, Canada, shared a bikini-wearing selfie of her stretchmark-laden stomach — the target of derision — and the selfie has now been shared more than 3,000 times by supporters.

Guys, you bring up some interesting red flags, like why her name is hyphenated and why is she posting pictures in the first place, but I gotta give her the benefit of the doubt and a pass here. She’s not some discussing blimp showing off how “pretty” she is, and she’s not even that fat by American standards. She has stretch marks because she popped out 5 kids and there’s some honor to be had in that. She’s also just tanning at the beach. Yes it looks gross, but Imma keep those thoughts to myself.
Now if she is seeking attention, if she gets a dime from the government and those kids are from a couple different fathers then I would have to change my tune.
