After severing ties with Univision Radio, Spanish-language L.A. radio fixture Eddie ‘Piolín’ Sotelo is set to launch an entertainment channel on subscription service SiriusXM this fall.

    Actually, the LA Times only got that part right. The spanish/latin channels they spoke of are already available on Sirius, XM, and the combined SIriusXM radios. And adding only one other channel somewhere for his show won’t be a big deal. I look at this as Univision’s loss and SiriusXM’s gain. If anything, between Mel Karamazin and now Scott Greenstein, both of which actually have experience on money-making and listenable radio, it’s another sign that current terrestrial radio management is the problem to their own success.
