Many big cable companies have wizened up that they might lose a slowly growing niche of cable-cutting customers. Several of them now will sell a package that include just Internet, HBO (and HBO Go) and the most basic of TV. You’re not exactly without cable TV, but you’re with much, much less of it.
It’s like ordering off the secret menu at In-and-Out Burger — you have to know what to ask for.
You had me at In-N-Out Burger
It’s called “Limited Basic” and it costs $14 a month. You get a reduced price on your high speed internet for having TV as well which comes out to be less for both than if you just had internet alone. Then get some streaming subscription plan such as Netflix and an Apple TV. Way less than the $180 I was paying for internet and a digital cable package of 900 channels of reality shows. Limited Basic is the local broadcast networks, their multiplexes, a few C-span type channels, and 45 music channels which I like since you can’t get good music like Smooth Jazz on FM anymore Broadcast radio is a wasteland of “Classic Rock” garbage and top 40 Katy Perry crap.
