When I first opened a business account with Wells Fargo, I was asked if I would be interested in other bank products every time I went into a branch. I started to dread going into the bank to deposit checks. I would go into 1 of 3 branches about 3 times per week. I actually felt sorry for the tellers. A supervisor would be standing right behind the teller listening to what they were saying to me. Obviously, the teller had to push product on me. It was always the same basic script. Finally, after about 6 months of this, they finally got used to seeing me and pretty much stopped asking me if I wanted a credit card, business loan or CDs. How many times can I nicely say: “No thank you?” Obviously, the banking business, like so many others, is a push, push business.

Oh, how could I forget. When you are done with your transaction, the tellers at Wells Fargo bank are instructed to ask if “they can do anything else to satisfy you today.” Tom, I got to admit half the time, a very attractive young lady teller would say that to me and I would say, no. But I would be thinking, yes. I have something I want to put into your mouth that would satisfy me.
