Freshman year in high school our team was awful we went 0-10. We got smoked by average score of something like 55-13. The Varsity team was very good. They made fun of us, saying “they were champs, we freshman were chumps.” It was embarrassing. But, nobody cried to their mommy. Fast forward to my senior year. We got a lot better, finishing with a 8-3 record when we on the Varsity. We worked so darn hard in the off season, running, lifting weights, scrimmaging. It paid off. We used 0-10 as a motivation to get better. I have fond memories of playing football in high school. How we went from “chumps” to winners from my freshman year to my senior year.
