Not really NEWS persay, as this story is from about a year ago but it apparently started making the rounds again this week. I work for the CDCR and I’m glad to see that they are doing stuff like this. Because it’s honestly bullshit how a group fighting for the rights of the inmates has got the federal government involved in saying how medical care should be administered to California inmates. What they basically did was say, here is a blank check, you can pay for anything you need to pay for to care for these inmates. Just seeing that the institution I work for pays over $4 million dollars per year JUST for medications for inmates with AIDS is astounding. I realize they need to be cared for but its our tax dollars that pay for this. This does not account for the many other benefits these inmates get as far as medical and dental go. Inmates in the process of going through a sex change…guess who pays for that? It’s happened and will probably continue to happen. So as a result of all this tax payer funding going towards medical expenses for inmates, its good to see that something that is actually beneficial to us as tax payers is being paid for. Sterilize these bitches!
