MUST HEAR OLD SCHOOL LEYKIS AUDIO: a 1993 listener does Be Funny before there was Be Funny

As much as our audience enjoys Be Funny, elements of what is now our most popular show segment have been part of The Tom Leykis Show for as long as it’s been in existence.

In 1993, during the miserable 11 months when Your Professor left LA to do the midday show at WRKO Radio in Boston, one of those silly TV evangelists had proclaimed that the fictional cereal character Cap’n Crunch had done something in a commercial that he believed was perverted (similar to when Jerry Falwell a couple of years later had announced that the Teletubbies were gay).

Shortly after we did a show about how ridiculous the Cap’n Crunch allegations were, a caller on a Friday Open Phones segment did a remix similar to what we hear on Be Funny today.
