Ever dated a feminist? In case you’ve forgotten why you wouldn’t want to, take a look at this Slate piece about President Obama’s comments on the personal appearance of California Attorney General Kamala Harris. Your Professor always tells you not to give a woman a compliment and here’s a good example why not to do that. By the same token, this story reminds us of the value of backhanded compliments as a way of effortlessly reducing woman’s self-esteem.
