The man has a point. This come, sit down, read this attitude is completely flawed. He could have spoken to someone in a higher position about this, but maybe the video going viral will bring the proper attention to teachers everywhere.
Speaking to someone of higher power is bullshit. I have a son in 3rd grade in Special Ed. We sat down at the beginning of the school year with his teacher, his principal, the special ed teachers of the school, his counselors, his PSR worker …… we set up an IEP that by law has to be followed.
There were some minor special arrangements that had to be made for a better education for my son. Simple things that the district had to do.
We have had several meetings thru out the school year over his IEP ……. as of today (5/14/13) some of those accomodations STILL have yet to be met.
Schools are nothing but a waste of tax payer money, and a waste of children’s time … we are paying these educators to educate ….. but mostly what they do is as little as they possibly can.
Most teachers today are just machine operators, running the business of collecting taxes for the school district. You could tell by the tone of the teacher, that she didn’t care and probably doesn’t like white people with long hair….Duncanville is predominantly minority.

This is probably what a privatized, public school would be like. Dumb ’em down. The only thing that matters is the bottom line.
This is actually what happens when you DON’T have privatized education. What we have is a federally regulated education system with Federal guidelines set by the Department of Education. Our education system has been on a downward spiral ever since the “Department of Education” took over.
We need to change how the union truly does protect bad teachers. They only shift around bad teachers or give them bullshit elective classes all day so they stay employed. The union is needed, but there needs to be more accountability for bad teachers. I’m glad that boy spoke out. I’m in favor of cameras in classrooms. If cops have them in their cars, (gov’t employees) teachers should also have them.

OMG. People are defending this Punk? I was raised in Catholic school where we respected authority and our teachers and would never even THINK of mouthing off like this long haired stoner. If someone even tried that the principal would literally drag his ass out of the school physically and call his parents and all the students would think the kids was a loser. Instead lets all praise this punk for mouthing off and preaching something he knows nothing about and even if hes right and shes a bad teacher that doesn’t give me a right to get on his soapbox and blab blab. Amazing how shtty public schools are. No way in hell my kid would ever goto a school like that.
Wow I cannot believe how ignorant you are. Having a position of authority does not warrant respect, it is your actions that determine whether or not respect is deserved. Respect is not a given right, it is something that is earned. A teacher who does nothing to inspire and only cares about a paycheck is a piece of shit as far as i am concerned. Teachers like her are a big part of the reason why there are so many idiots in this country. That kid was absolutely right and it is a shame that you don’t see that. Benjamin Franklin once said that revolution is healthy from time to time, its keeps the governments honest and in check. maybe its time there was an education revolution.
